"The baby just sort of dropped in a straight line, and a guy just ran forward and the baby fell into his arms", she said.
One resident who said he and his neighbours had complained about the building's safety for years said he considered the disaster "mass murder".
The local council of Kensington and Chelsea, which owns the block, said its focus was on supporting the rescue and relief operation.
