Two days after South Africa was shown exit gate post their eight-wicket loss to defending champions India, skipper AB de Villiers came forth with an apology note for his fans, through a small video.
South Africa will hand the captaincy reins back to AB de Villiers for their T20 worldwide series against England with regular skipper Faf du Plessis and a host of other stars to miss.
Du Plessis will return to the United Kingdom for the ensuing four-Test series against England in a straight swap back with de Villiers, who's on a self-imposed break from the longest format.
South Africa are resting five first-choice players, including du Plessis, Hashim Amla, JP Duminy, Quinton de Kock and Kagiso Rabada, for the T20s, with Dwaine Pretorius the only new cap.
JJ Smuts and Mangaliso Mosehle, who both were part of the squad in the T20I home series against Sri Lanka, have also been roped for the upcoming series against South Africa.

De Villiers is now tasked with leading the Proteas in their three-T20 series against England, the first of which will take place on Wednesday, June 21.
Linda Zondi also mentioned that the South Africa tour of England would be a great opportunity for the inexperienced players to gel better with the experienced players of the team.
