Mr Sessions added he has no knowledge of "any such conversations by anyone connected to the Trump campaign".

The Attorney General's appearance before the Senate comes a week after explosive testimony from former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey, in which accused President Trump of lying to the U.S. public. There are none, Senator Wyden.

Republicans said it appears Democrats don't care about this anymore, ever since Comey said the president himself was not under investigation for election collusion.

The attorney general said it was a "longstanding policy of the Department of Justice" not to reveal conversations between the attorney general and the president, saying he would need to share the questions with the president. "I don't even read that carefully".

Sessions did not say he committed to raising the issue with Trump or making sure the president was aware of the rules around communications between Trump and DOJ.

"I recuse myself not because of any asserted wrongdoing or any belief that I may have been involved in any wrongdoing in the campaign, but because a Department of Justice regulation... required it", said Sessions.

He also said that Mr Comey later told him he was concerned about the meeting, but he did not say that something improper occurred.

A subsequent memo leaked by Mr Comey prompted claims that President Trump attempted to influence the top law enforcement official into dropping its probe into former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

He said Sessions' silence "speaks volumes".

But Sessions disputed that was why he lingered, suggesting there was really nothing to it.

The Attorney General testified that he never had any meetings with officials from Russian Federation or anywhere else about interference in the U.S. elections.

"I think it depends on the scope of the questions and to get into a hypothetical at this point would be premature", White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said.

While the possibility that love can realistically be stronger than weapons may sound cheesy and unbelievable, it works quite well. However, she's happy that there's been an increase of interest from Hollywood to have more female roles, but it's not enough.

Sessions said he "encouraged" Comey to follow the "well-established rules governing any communications with the White House about ongoing investigations".

Then, Sessions paused a second, before dialing up his response. Days after that, Sessions also corrected his confirmation hearing testimony to inform the committee about his two meetings with Kislyak.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has heatedly denied that he had any undisclosed meeting with the Russian ambassador or conversations with Russian officials about the USA elections.

"I understand he was there".

Comey said that Sessions appeared to linger in the Oval Office before being guided out. Richard Burr, R-N.C. "I believe that representation is correct. In fact, he I recently saw a video of him coming into the room".

"I guess I could say I possibly did have a meeting, but I still do not recall it", Sessions said.

SESSIONS: I have no idea.

Amid reports that Trump had considered getting rid Mueller, Rosenstein testified earlier on Tuesday that he would not obey an order unless he determined it was lawful and appropriate.

Sessions recused himself in March from a federal investigation into contacts between Russia and the presidential campaign of Donald Trump after acknowledging that he had met twice a year ago with the Russian ambassador to the United States. While he did not provide me with any of the substance of his conversation with the president, apparently the day before, Mr. Comey expressed concern about proper communications protocol with the White House and with the president.

Rosenstein added that if there were a good cause, he would consider firing the special counsel.
