South Korea has discovered what appears to be a North Korean drone in the forest near the border with North Korea.

The unmanned aerial vehicle crashed near the demilitarized zone, where it was discovered on June 9.

A North Korean drone that crashed on a remote mountain in Gangwon Province last week had been spying on a Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense battery from the USA being stationed in southwestern Korea.

During the London 2012 Olympics North Korea's women's football team walked off the pitch in protest when the South Korean flag was inadvertently shown at their game. The missile shield achieved "initial intercept capability" in May.

THAAD's deployment has been a polarizing issue for most of the region.

"The drone was similarly shaped to the one found in March 2014 on Baengnyeong Island in the Yellow Sea, but a bit larger in size", said a military official.

Cheong Wa Dae said that he will be suited to implement the main tasks facing the ministry including North Korea's denuclearization and the formation of a peace regime.

Ironically, Sony is a Japanese company, a country that has been largely threatened by North Korean missile tests.

South Korea's new president called for a stronger alliance with the United States and urged the combined forces to maintain a firm defense posture as they face a growing threat from the North. The globally isolated state does not have diplomatic relations with Japan or South Korea.

The South's military has come under public criticism for again failing to detect the apparent North Korean drone.

North Korea has fired off a dozen ballistic missiles, as well as multiple coastal defense cruise missiles and surface-to-air missiles, and Pyongyang has warned that an intercontinental ballistic missile test is close at hand.

North Korea boycotted the 1986 Asian Games and the 1988 Seoul Olympics, both held in Seoul, but it has since attended other major global sports events held in the South.

Gianni Infantino is reported to have welcomed the President's suggestions, and opened the possibility of an extraordinary global event, with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un welcomed as a guest among his worldwide peers at a major tournament.
