House Majority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana has been shot at a congressional baseball practice, congressional officials say.
The shooting took place at a practice for the GOP congressional baseball team.

A government official says the suspect, who has since died, was identified as an IL man named James. Then many more shots, and Capitol Police returned fire.
"He's a patriot and a fighter", Trump said.
Federal Bureau of Investigation special agent in charge Tim Slater said it was "too early to say" whether it was an act of terrorism, or whether Scalise was targeted. The FBI has taken over the investigation.
