"I don't think Theresa May and this government have any credibility", Corbyn told the Sunday Mirror, predicting that there could be another election within months. A deal with the DUP and their 10 lawmakers would give her a workable majority.
The DUP's deputy leader Nigel Dodds confirmed that the party's condition for shoring up the new Tory government is an assurance that Northern Ireland will not be accorded special European Union status after Brexit that will keep it distinct from the rest of the United Kingdom.
She also promised to deliver the changes she set out after the two recent terrorist attacks in Manchester and London, giving police more powers and tackling radicalisation. The DUP is a socially conservative group that opposes abortion and same-sex marriage and had links to Protestant paramilitary groups during Ireland's sectarian "Troubles".

May, who went into the election with a reputation for quiet competence, was criticized for a lackluster campaigning style and for a plan to force elderly people to pay more for their care, a proposal her opponents dubbed the "dementia tax".
