Now Corriere dello Sport in Italy indicate that Roma have given the all-clear.
Liverpool have made an improved offer for Roma winger Mohamed Salah after having their original bid rebuffed, according to Egyptian publication Yallakora and reports in Italy.
The Corriere dello Sport report adds that this week will be decisive and that there could be an announcement at the beginning of this week.
From a Roma perspective, the departure of Salah leaves them quite short in attack on the right hand side, since Diego Perotti and Stephan El Shaarawy prefer to play on the left or down the middle. The Serie A outfit are under financial strain and the sale of Salah would help them ease the pressure.
Salah also knows the Premier League well following his failed stint at Chelsea that saw him struggle to force his way in to the starting eleven following his £12m move from Basel in 2014.

Along the way, Trump's populist campaign rhetoric has been transformed into a more pro-business, center-right administration. Such a rule is believed to have prevented the net accumulation of new assets, which dint go down well with banks.
Opportunities were scarce in London and Salah appeared just 19 times for the Blues before leaving on loan for Fiorentina, where he impressed and controversially completed a move to Roma in 2015.
I think we'll see a deal get agreed in the end and Salah will provide Klopp with another top class option in the final third with the Egyptian global ready to compete with the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane for a starting spot.
Liverpool have already agreed a deal to sign Dominic Solanke on a free transfer. That would equate to £35.4m and 4.4 in add-ons and would technically make Salah the most expensive player in Liverpool's history.
Salah, 24, scored 15 goals and delivered 11 assists in Serie A last season.
