Leicester star Riyad Mahrez still waiting for Arsenal approach

Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez has welcomed praise from Arsene Wenger but insists there has been no offer from Arsenal for his services.

There's a big difference between an offer and speculation, so there is nothing on the table at the moment.

"I went from the Championship to the Premier League, I stayed up with the team the next season, we won the Premier League, I won the PFA player of the year award, I played in the Champions League, so we did something quite exceptional".

Of course, Arsenal are a hugely more attractive club to play for than Leicester.

'I think it would be the right time for me to leave, I have experienced everything at this football club'.

Mahrez netted 18 times in the 2015-16 campaign, but managed only 10 this season.

I had gone through the confused and slightly angry stage and was just laughing, wondering who this was chipping and putting. Noren started the final day seven shots behind before getting round in a 10 under 62 to finish 11 under overall.

There were rampant rumours linking him with an exit last summer, with Arsenal one of the touted destinations, but with their miraculous Premier League title resulting in a Champions League place, the dazzling winger was convinced to stay at the King Power and test himself in Europe.

There were inklings last summer that Mahrez wanted out but he was persuaded to join the European dream which was a dream as City defied expectations to reach the quarter finals.

The Algerian publicly declared last month that he had a agreement with the club that they would sell him at the end of last season.

The 23-year-old has proven he is able to perform in the Premier League and a move to Leicester, who have improved under Craig Shakespeare's stewardship, could be just what he needs to reignite his career.

It would likely take a serious offer for Wenger to even consider selling, but Marseille have shown remarkable persistence in the market, evidenced by their successful chase of Payet.
