Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho says that ongoing speculation linking him with a move to Barcelona this summer is "complicated".

"I have a contract with Liverpool, there are two games, there are a lot of chances for us to be in the Champions League next year".

The 25-year-old was pictured training with his Brazil team-mates on Monday as they geared up for the clash with the Socceroos.

Coutinho is set to captain Brazil for the first time on Tuesday when they take on Australia at the MCG.

The Reds playmaker is now on worldwide duty with Brazil in Australia, after another impressive season for Liverpool.

"I have to give them opportunities and even if we lose matches, they know I'm watching them".

"This is the time to give them the opportunities but when we arrive to the World Cup I will try to come up with one formal line-up to try and win the matches by giving organisation to the team".

"The key is to not get too caught up in the opponent and make sure you get something out of the exercise".

Along with Souza, Brazil are likely to make further team changes with Diego Alves, Rafinha, Rodrigo Caio, Alex Sandro, David Luiz, Giuliano and Douglas Costa all pressing for a start.

"Being captain another level for me and today [Monday] is my birthday so it's a special moment for me".

Coutinho is now away with the Brazil squad in Australia and was involved in the 1-0 defeat to Argentina on Friday.

"To be qualified for the World Cup is important, that was our main goal, so the Argentina game was good as preparation", he said. Another team, another style of football.

"I think all the players are prepared for this game and the style of Australia". They have players of quality, they are strong and tall. "It's different from what we find in Europe".
