The commissioner of Londons Metropolitan Police says the nationalities of the eight victims in the terrorist attack on London Bridge tell a proud story of Londons unique makeup.
She said: "People will be thinking about what happened last Saturday night and respecting those who have lost their lives, their families and those who have been affected but also not giving in to terrorists and that includes in the immediate surrounds of Borough market". Following the terror attack, 12 were arrested and released within 24 hours without any charges pressed against them.
In addition to the fake explosives, police have released images of ceramic knives found on or near the assailants and the van they used to hit people on the bridge.
Armed officers fired nearly 50 rounds, killing three attackers who had plowed a rented van into pedestrians on the bridge, killing three, then jumped out and stabbed Saturday night revelers in Borough Market, an area packed with bars and restaurants.
Police Commander Dean Haydon, head of Scotland Yard's Counter Terrorism Command, said: "We've been working round the clock to understand what these men did in the lead up to the attack, but we need to know more about these unusual knives. I got them into the pub's basement as a place of hard cover", he said.
On the evening of the attack, Butt hired a white Renault van using a recently-activated mobile phone.
Police are questioning six men over suspected links to the attackers, Pakistani-born British citizen Butt, Moroccan Redouane, and Zaghba, an Italian national of Moroccan descent. Previous to her appointment she was known to most of the public as the officer who presided over the botched police operation which saw Brazilian man Jean Charles de Menezes shot dead by officers who had mistaken him for a terror accomplice.
Why Comey's Interaction With Loretta Lynch Left Him "Queasy"
Halper then said that Bill Clinton could also be blamed for Clinton's election loss previous year because "Lynch met with Bill Clinton on the tarmac".
"I can only assume they were part of trying to cause fear amongst people who came across them", the senior officer said. "The kitchen knives, each measuring 12 inches, are branded Ernesto and are ceramic, rather than metal".
At the bedsit, police discovered an English language copy of the Koran opened at a page describing martyrdom, pieces of cloth which appeared to match material wrapped around the petrol bombs, and water bottles similar to those used in the fake suicide vests.
The attackers had wound duct tape around the handles and in Butt's case, a leather strap had been attached to the handle and was hung around his wrist.
They also arrested a 28-year-old man in Barking, where the attackers had a safe house.
It brings to seven the number of people being held in custody in connection with the incident. Detectives expect further searches and arrests to be made in the coming days.
Meanwhile, it has emerged that Government guidance issued days after the attack warns hospitals and doctors surgeries that they too could be targeted by terrorists.
"We cannot and must not pretend that things can continue as they are".
