Saudi Arabia has completely shut Qatar's only land border in a country that imports 90 percent of its food, much of it through its border with the Saudis.
Qatar sought Friday to enlist support from overseas after Saudi Arabia and its allies placed several Qataris and Doha-based organisations on a "terror list" in an escalating Gulf diplomatic crisis. All that comes amid a crackdown on all dissent on the island home to the U.S. Navy's 5th Fleet and an under-construction British naval base.
Also named were Doha-based Muslim Brotherhood spiritual leader Yusuf al-Qaradawi and Qatari-funded charities. The Muslim Brotherhood ruled in Egypt from mid-2012 to mid-2013 before the Egyptian military removed the party from power.
Names involving Libya include militia commanders and the Benghazi Defense Brigade, which is battling forces commanded by Gen. Khalifa Hifter, who has the backing of Egypt and the UAE amid that country's chaos. Qatar has denied the allegations.
Qatar has backed Islamist movements but strongly denies supporting terrorism. It said Qatar is "promoting extremist thoughts and spreading chaos and disturbances across numerous Arab countries, resulting in big humanitarian miseries".
It criticised Qatar's "double standard policy", saying that the country announced it is fighting terrorism while financing, supporting and harbouring various terrorist organisations.
In a statement by the Foreign Ministry, the African country accused Qatar of having connections to terrorist organizations.
"The emir of Qatar has made progress in halting financial support and expelling terrorist elements from his country, but he must do more and he must do it more quickly", Tillerson said.
A top United Arab Emirates official on Wednesday (June 7) told AFP that the unprecedented measures against Qatar aim to pressure Doha into making drastic policy changes.

Al-Jazeera is the flagship broadcaster for Qatar. Al Jazeera, a Qatari media network often critical of Saudi and Egyptian authorities. Trump also appeared to suggest the decision to sever diplomatic relations with Qatar, home to a large US military base, was understandable.
In its statement, the Qatari government said it has been leading the region in attacking what it called the roots of "terrorism", including giving young people hope through jobs, educating hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees and funding community programmes to challenge agendas of armed groups.
He told reporters on Thursday that Qatar had never experienced this type of hostility, even from an enemy country.
As a member of the Saudi-led Arab coalition, Qatar has been involved in the military campaign against Houthi rebels in Yemen since March 2015.
Qatar has yet to receive any list of demands from the Arab countries that have cut ties, Sheikh Mohammed said.
The U.A.E. -owned Etihad and Emirates airlines said expatriates residing in Qatar and in possession of Qatari residency will not be eligible for an Emirati visa on arrival.
