As dozens celebrate Memorial Day at the National Cemetery, some are taking a personal moment to say hello and thank you to their loved ones.
Mark Dayton, U.S. Sen Amy Klobuchar and Command Sergeant Major (Retired) Douglas L. Julin scheduled to give Memorial Day remarks.
The event included recognition of attending veterans, along with a reminder from Hernandez that fewer World War II veterans were alive to attend this year's service than last years.
Trump, along with Vice President Mike Pence, who was also at the service, visited Section 60, where the military members who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan since 9/11 are buried chatting and shaking hands with the families of the fallen.
"It's humbling to know there's this many people from this standpoint honoring the men and women just like him", said Munoz.
The cemetery was founded in 1845 and is believed to be the oldest burial spot for settlers in Winnebago County.

Hundreds of Tennessee Valley residents are spending this Memorial Day, honoring those who lost their lives, while serving our country. "But they were all angels sent to us by God and they all share one title in common and that is the title of hero, real heroes".
Douglas Julin, who retired in 2012 after leading the Red Bulls, said Memorial Day is the most solemn of national holidays, especially as US soldiers continue to serve in conflict zones.
"We have a great program to honor those that have made the ultimate sacrifice", said Jeff Moore, managing partner of Sterling White.
After the address, Trump visited a section of the cemetery for US service members killed in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
