On election day 2020, as the numbers roll in and Dwayne Johnson has swept every county and every demographic in one of the most stunning victories in political history, we might look back at this interview with Jimmy Fallon and realize we should have seen it coming.

"I've really been blown away".

Thursday night saw the movie star gush about the overwhelming "groundswell" of support he's received since the piece went live. "How the surge and the groundswell since then has really been unbelievable, and I gotta tell you, I'm so incredibly flattered that there's a national poll that just came out this past week... that brought together Republicans and Democrats that said I would beat Donald Trump if we had an election today".

"I think it's because, you know, a lot of people want to see a different leadership today - I'm sorry, not a different, but a better leadership today", The Rock said. Then he dropped this, which sounds an bad lot like a campaign slogan: "More poise, less noise".

"I think that it's a real possibility", he said in the interview.
