Peyton Manning to host ESPY Awards

Since Peyton Manning has retired from the National Football League, many have suggested he would excel in front of the camera.

Former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning will host this year's ESPYS.

Manning, who retired after 17 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos on March 7, 2016, will be joined by numerous world's top athletes to celebrate the year in sports.

Manning has hosted Saturday Night Live in the past and has shown his humor through numerous commercials in his playing career. The show airs live at 8:00 p.m. on July 12 on WATE 6 On Your Side.

Manning says the show's 25th anniversary will include moments from the past. He won nine ESPYs during his career.

Manning will be the guest of honor and keynote speaker at The Oklahoman's All-City Prep Sports Awards celebrating top high school athletes.

"In addition to recognizing a special year in sports, the 25th ESPYS will allow us to go down memory lane and pay tribute to those who have played such a huge part in this program's success".

Last year, Manning was given the ESPY Icon Award along with Kobe Bryant and Abby Wambach.
