The Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, to be hosted by President Xi Jinping himself and attended by 28 other leaders, will take place from May 14 to 15 in Beijing.

The prime minister will join 27 other world leaders for BRF, the highest-level dialogue since the vision for the One Belt, One Road Initiative or OBOR was shared by Xi in 2013.

China's ambitious project envisages connecting Asia, Europe and Africa through a network of highways, trains, and ship lanes.

Some of China's most reliable allies and partners will attend the forum, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

He said that CPEC was a core component of the visionary initiative of the One belt-One Road.

Xi also said that China wants to boost cooperation with Pakistan under the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

The two sides will begin discussion of a one-year plan on bilateral economic cooperation, according to him.
