Radio Pakistan reported that several agreements are expected to be signed in connection with the Dollars 46-billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) during Sharif's visit.

In the last few days, China has tried to assuage India s feelings by asserting that the commercial corridor will not have any impact on its stand that the Kashmir issue should be settled by India and Pakistan through dialogue. Chinese state media has linked Xi inextricably to the two-day gathering in Beijing, centered around a plan for a vast network of ports, railways and roads expanding China's trade with Asia, Africa and Europe.
