As a developer, you needed access to Mac machines to simulate Apple environment to fully test an iOS app on it. The application will be deployed in seconds to the Live Player app, enabling developers to quickly develop and test their changes without having to recompile and redeploy your application.
Until now, iOS development still required you to use a Mac for building and testing purposes.
Live Player extensions for Visual Studio 2017 and Visual Studio for Mac, announced yesterday, are available today in the Microsoft Store, and Xamarin Live Player apps are available in both Google Play and the iOS App Store. "Developers get a great IDE and a single environment to not only work on end-to-end solutions-from mobile and web apps to games-but also to integrate with and deploy to Azure".
Xamarin Live Player isn't the only piece of mobile development news out of Microsoft's Build developer conference Thursday. The new app tools developed by Microsoft will allow the Windows developers to develop their iOS or Android app in a much quicker fashion.
Macedonia: EU Should Stop Accession Process to Break Deadlock
Macedonia's interior minister has offered his resignation a day after protesters stormed the country's parliament. Hungary's foreign minister claimed foreign intrusion was to blame for the political crisis in Macedonia.
These apps allow you to write, execute, and debug code continuously on an iOS or Android device straight from developer interface.
Prior to today's release, Visual Studio had exclusively been a Windows development suite - owing to Microsoft's previous staunch opposition to releasing software and services on non-Microsoft platforms and systems. There is no need to install SDKs and emulators to get started - just download an app, pair your device with Visual Studio by scanning a QR code, and hit "debug" like you normally would. Typically, when a developer writes an app for multiple OSes, they have to write the app from the ground up for each OS they want their app to run on. The app will interpret the code and Live Player can also support Live Run.
Xamarin Live Player also supports Android devices, but developers with Visual Studio could already debug an Android app natively. Xamarin Live Player removes that requirement and instead asks you for an iPhone and Visual Studio 2017 for Windows.
