Job approval for President Trump has fallen to a new low of 36 percent while just 35 percent of Americans have a favorable opinion of the 45th President, according to a new national Quinnipiac University poll. His approval rating is down from the last poll in mid-April, following his decision to launch USA missile strikes against the Syrian regime, in which 40 percent of the public approved of his job.

A new poll from Quinnipiac University shows support for Donald Trump collapsing, particularly among groups that helped him win the election, such as "white voters with no college degree, white men, and independent voters". When broken down into issues, the numbers are even more stark, with 59 percent disapproving of his handling of foreign policy and 62 percent disapproving of his take on immigration.
The poll registered 58 percent of voters who disapproved of the way the media covers President Trump, while 37 percent approved.
Oil Inventories Fall More than Expected; Prices Rise
Vitol, the world's largest oil trading house, moved a record 7 million barrels per day of crude and oil products a year ago . Crude prices rose further in Asia on Thursday, building on overnight gains following an upbeat report on USA inventories.
The Quinnipiac poll comes just one day after it was announced that President Trump had fired FBI Director James Comey, although the event may not have had time to impact the poll numbers, according to the Washington Examiner.
The poll, taken from May 4-9, showed that 57 percent of voters replied that they trusted the media more than President Trump, while 31 percent said they trusted President Trump more. They do not believe Trump is honest, has good leadership skills, cares about average Americans, is level-headed, or that he shares their values. That compares to 40 percent approval and 56 percent disapproval in an April 19 survey. Just 47 percent now approve of Trump's administration, compared with 57 percent in April. Fifty-six percent of respondents said he doesn't, but 84 percent of Republicans said he does. This is the widest margin ever measured for this question in a Quinnipiac University poll, exceeding a 5 percentage point margin for Republicans in 2013.
The 45th President's war with the news media produces plague-on-both-your-houses opinions.
Only 36 percent of voters approved of how Trump is handling the presidency, while 58 percent disapproved. The poll further revealed that 54 percent of voters responded that they want Democrats to control the House in 2018.
