This comes from Deadline, which says season two of American Gods will most likely premiere "mid-2018", and though the specific number of episodes that season two will have hasn't been determined yet, it will most likely be "at least the eight that the first season had". Gaiman is involved as an executive producer and Bryan Fuller (Hannibal) and Michael Green (Logan) are writers/showrunners.

The series is produced by Fremantle Media North America (FMNA). This is great news not only for fans of the book, who were bound to enjoy this brilliant riff on Neil Gaiman's work, but also for the more casual viewers who may have been nervous about giving themselves over to a show this dense and odd.

Lost and confused, Shadow is hired by the mysterious Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane.) Working with Wednesday, Shadow is drawn into a magic world and war of Old Gods clashing with New Gods.
