The team can not let the Raptors shoot 58% from the field, or let Nate Powell (?) score 25 points, like it did in Game 5.
All the pre-game talk had been about closing this series in six games, both to avoid the Game 7 pressure the Raptors know way too well, and give themselves a breather before tipping off against the resting Cavaliers in Cleveland. But who is to say they will get a third chance to take out LeBron James?
It wasn't just Game 6 where DDR stood out though.
The Toronto Raptors beat the Milwaukee Bucks 92-89 on Thursday, giving them a 4-2 series win.
Now, they face a familiar foe in Cleveland in the Eastern Conference semifinals, beginning Monday at Quicken Loans Arena, where Toronto couldn't win a game in last year's playoffs. "We lost our composure a bit but we found a way to scratch it through and that's what good teams do". "I hate to keep saying that over and over again, but that is the only way we can treat it because that's how they are going to treat it". "That's what good teams do".
Air Force's mysterious space plane lands, wakes up Florida
The space plane sent a sonic boom that rattled east-central Florida before 8 a.m., waking residents from their weekend slumber. The X-37B, one of two in the Air Force fleet, conducted unspecified experiments for more than 700 days while in orbit.
The Raptors were intent on capturing Game 6 to avoid stretching out the opening round another couple of days.
They survived partly because Milwaukee missed nine free throws in the second half. That single shot pushed the lead to 85-82 and swung Toronto's odds of winning a whopping 28.0% from 52.03% to 80.03%. Two foul shots from Joseph with 33.9 seconds extended the lead to seven. The Bucks have dropped each of the last two games by double digits since taking a 2-1 series lead with a 104-77 rout of the Raptors in Game 3. But then Tony Snell threw the ball away on the inbounds, ending the series and the Bucks' season. Fizdale saw something his Grizzlies did wrong on each of Mills' made 3s: "Every one of them was on a mistake we made on him", he said. "They bounced back after Game 3, and that's what we're going to try to do", forward Giannis Antetokounmpo told reporters. He repeatedly tore through the Toronto defense to get to the lane, finishing with 34 points. The Milwaukee Bucks are shooting 42 percent from beyond the arc and 71.1 percent from the free throw line. We don't need to over-analyze this. "And that's what we're going to need to do next round because the next team is waiting". This after suffering through a seven-game series skid (1-6 ATS).
What did you think of the Toronto Raptors' performance on Thursday night? The Bucks still could not adjust to the Raptors' small-ball lineup which spaced the floor more efficiently. The Grizzlies and Bucks both played the brilliant role of underdog this postseason but ultimately fell to their superiors.
The win gave the Raptors their first Game 6 win since 2001 and a matchup with the Cavaliers in the second round. The Bucks are as inexperienced as they are young, and they're pretty young. Even Antetokounmpo, a gym rat, looked exhausted with his hands on hips as he caught his breath during fourth-quarter breaks. "But for sure some guys played a lot of minutes, their bodies are sore", Antetokounmpo said.
Parker finished the night 10-of-13 from the field with 27 points in the Spurs' closeout game.
