This year, the women's race - which will again mirror stage two of the men's race - is a more challenging 122.5km route through the Dales between Tadcaster and Harrogate.
Last year, the race offered what was at the time record prize money for a women's event anywhere in the world.
"Last year there weren't so many teams here, but this year there are a lot of the top riders and a lot of the top teams want to get a good result here".
"Somehow I've never had the chance to race in Great Britain so I'm really looking forward to lining up at Tour of Yorkshire", Bookwalter said. She came to the sport from triathalon after a running injury, and now races for Team Sun Sport Velo.
"I've heard it's an action packed race with some of the most passionate fans and a course that can produce unpredictable racing, so I'm excited to be part of it".
Parties gear up for broadcast leaders' debate
The leaders will face off in a televised debate on Wednesday. "Are you going to lose your temper on me now, Mr. Weaver defended his plan to double the foreign buyers' tax for "mega-mansions" costing more than $1 million.
"If the Tour de Yorkshire is anything to go by, the World Championships here will be a huge".
After this weekend, Deignan will turn her attention to preparing for this year's World Championships, which will take place in Norway in September. The questions were about cycling in general, not just the Tour de Yorkshire, there were questions on the Tour de France too and things like how many calories would the riders burn.
"It's very hard, actually a lot harder than I thought it was going to be", she said. It will depend on the wind direction whether it will come back together or not after that. I think a selection will be made over that climb.
Rolling out of Bridlington on Friday (April 28), the race heads to Scarborough on stage one where the rouleurs will look to foil the sprinters on the coast.
