IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Chris Soules, an Iowa farmer who starred on "The Bachelor" two years ago, was arrested Tuesday after authorities say he caused a traffic accident that killed a fellow farmer and fled the scene.

According to police reports, Soules' truck struck a tractor from behind at around 8:20 p.m. CT, sending both vehicles into nearby ditches, USA Today reported. The person driving the tractor trailer, identified as Kenneth Moser, was taken in an ambulance to the hospital, where he died. According to police, Soules fled the scene, but he left his truck behind.

Court documents say alcoholic beverages or containers were at the scene of deadly crash. After the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office arrested him, Soules was reportedly taken to the hospital for medical treatment and then to the jail.

A former reality TV star has been arrested following a fatal crash overnight in Buchanan County. The rest are for alcohol related offenses including pleading guilty in 2006 for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. They later found the vehicle at a home that Soules was present at.

Soules was later released from jail after his mother Linda posted bond, the Des Moines Register reported.

Soules was behind the wheel of a Chevy pickup that rear-ended a tractor trailer in Arlington, Iowa.

The first encounter, prosecutors said, occurred in Metairie off Veterans Memorial Boulevard near a daiquiri shop on August 22. This trial was held in Jefferson Parish because at least one of the encounters allegedly happened in that parish.

This time the reality star is in his biggest trouble to date, as he's been charged with leaving scene of an accident where a death occurred, which is a felony.

The Buchanan County Sheriff's office, which is also investigating, said it received a 911 call about the crash.

"Chris Soules was involved in an accident Monday evening in a rural part of Iowa near his home", his publicist told ABC News in a statement.

The Arlington native first gained attention on Andi Dorfman's season of "The Bachelorette" in 2014.

Soules is now free on a $10,000 bond.

The fertility nurse, who won Soules' season of "The Bachelor" and was briefly engaged to the farmer in 2015, responded to the news of her famous ex's arrest. Unfortunately for those fans, his fiancé, Whitney Bischoff, broke off the engagement that same year and it looks like Soules has fallen into series of bad choices.
