Tuchel: Dortmund made too many mistakes

The Ligue 1 leaders, the first team under the current Champions League format to reach the last four after going through two preliminary rounds, had the game nearly wrapped up through early goals by 18-year-old striker Kylian Mbappe and Colombian striker Radamel Falcao.

Defender Marc Bartra is expected to be out for around a month having fractured his wrist when the team bus was attacked prior to the rescheduled tie last week.

Mbappe is now the only player in the history of the competition to score in each of his first four appearances in the knockout stages.

The added pace did help Dortmund enjoy a decent spell of pressure, but they lacked the clinical edge in the final third that Monaco had so devastatingly displayed.

Shortly before the match, Monaco played the famed song from Liverpool football club "You'll Never Walk Alone" in honor of Dortmund, with fans from both sides singing along with their scarves raised. "It is very important for French clubs and France", Falcao told beIN Sports.

"There are three wonderful teams [Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Juventus], with lots of experience". "If we had gone out in the quarterfinals (against Dortmund) we'd be fresh to prepare all the (other) games, but we're very ambitious and I don't want the mentality of the players to change". That's what we do best and today it worked as we qualified for the semi-finals.

Bartra was there to support his teammates in Monaco, but it was another hard night as their bus was delayed in leaving for the ground, held up by police for security reasons.

States also could request waivers to Obamacare's ban on insurers charging sick customers higher premiums than healthy customers. So yes, national Republicans should look the the "Maine model" as they consider health care policy, but not as a success story.

Whatever the reasons behind the travel issues, there was nothing but support for Dortmund inside the ground.

So who will start at Stade Louis II?

Thomas Tuchel has admitted his Borussia Dortmund side simply weren't up to scratch as they crashed out of the Champions League.

Mbappe, who has now scored 16 goals in his last 16 competitive outings, is the most efficient striker in Europe in terms of goals scored per minute, ahead of Barcelona's Lionel Messi.

Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel: "We've got this out of our system now and we're more stable emotionally".

"Altogether, our performance was not up to it".

Though these sides are renowned for scoring plenty of goals - and conceding nearly as many - it's a lead that should prove sufficient to see Leonardo Jardim's side into the final four.
