The Prime Minister's decision to hold a snap vote has left just days to get outstanding Bills passed before Parliament ends to allow the nation to go to the polls.
Earlier, May said holding an election in June, rather than as scheduled in 2020, would "deliver a more secure future for our country" as it negotiates its departure from the EU.
Though May has been cautious in detailing her Brexit strategy, traders think a big victory for in the election could give her ammunition in dealing with those within her own Conservative Party who are urging a complete, "hard" divorce from the European Union - even if that means new tariffs and an exclusion from the bloc's huge single market.
"They are yesterday's rules, set by failed political and corporate elites we should be consigning to the past". "Now we need to go for implementation". This election is going to be fought on the streets of this country.
They also say that a big victory for May will dilute the influence of those lawmakers pushing for a "hard Brexit" as well as strengthening May's overall negotiating stance.

The pair wasted little time in hitting the campaign trail once MPs cleared the way for the election.
Mr Farron was speaking as he visited the Manchester seats of Gorton and Withington, two of a string of Remain-voting Labour strongholds in the North West of England which the Lib Dems hope to snatch from Mr Corbyn's party.
This election is about her Government's failure to rebuild the economy and living standards for the majority. We can't win, they say, because we don't play their game. "Only a LibDems vote offers an internationalist, sensible and electable alternative to the Tory Brexit Government".
Britain is now gearing up for its third general election in seven years, which comes less than a year after the divisive referendum that decided the United Kingdom would withdraw from the EU.
However Weston chairman Anita Spencer-Johns said the party was "pleased" to hear about the election. I was pleased to hear Mrs May make negative comments of other parties but not in regard to UKIP.
"UKIP has proven to be the only party which was consistent and united about leaving the European Union, therefore to ensure Brexit will achieve the wishes of the people of the UK, there needs to be UKIP MPs in Parliament".
