First Xbox Project Scorpio in 4K images leak

The folks at Windows Central got their hands on a series of images that showcase how the upcoming supercharged Xbox will enhance your games, and the improvements seem significant - even for folks that plan on playing Scorpio on a plain old 1080p TV or monitor. The images show the difference between a close up on her face at 1080p on the Xbox One, and at 4k and HD on Project Scorpio. The first shows a scientist in a steampunk lab.

Keep in mind that these images are just from tech demos, meaning they were purpose-built to make Xbox Scorpio look as impressive as possible.

One of the biggest news stories at this year's E3 is going to be the reveal of the new Project Scorpio console, Microsoft's equivalent of the PS4 Pro. This isn't necessarily indicative of what real games running in real conditions will look like.

Since Microsoft unveiled Project Scorpio previous year, the company put a clear emphasis on true 4K gaming, which means that you'd better save up for that 4K display if you really want to take advantage of these six teraflops of computing power. Which is pretty much the point of Project Scorpio, right?

Xbox Scorpio supports up to 4K and users will need a TV with a 4K display to reap the full benefits.
