DHS Chief Kelly: Trump Will Be 'Insistent' on Funding for Border Wall

President Donald Trump is heading into one of the most challenging weeks of his presidency, juggling a renewed push on health care and a looming budget deadline.

In an interview on ABC's This Week, Attorney General Jeff Sessions danced around the question of how the Trump administration is going to pay for the wall between the USA and Mexico.

Trump signing a major bill like ObamaCare repeal and replace into law within his first 100 days of office, which ends this week, would be a major victory for the president. And he suggested that Democrats would be to blame due to their demands on an ObamaCare overhaul plan in exchange for border wall funding in the measure.

Recently, Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney stated that the upcoming federal budget must include a down payment for border wall funding.

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi of California described a border wall as "immoral" and "expensive" when asked if there was any scenario in which Democrats would agree to money for a wall.

Both the White House and Democrats have adopted hard-line positions on Trump's $1 billion request for a down payment on construction of the border wall, a central plank of last year's campaign. Richard Durbin of IL, a senior Democrat, called the funding "a political stunt" that could threaten the ability of Congress to approve a must-pass bill this week to keep the government open.

North Korea threatens to hit Australia with nuclear strike
North Korean state media continues to claim North Korea can strike its enemies anywhere on earth, which is untrue. North Korea's most recent missile test, last week, failed just seconds after launch.

"Democrats do not support the wall", she said, speaking also on NBC.

Rank-and-file Republicans received few answers on a Saturday conference call by top House GOP leaders, who offered little detail and said deals remained elusive on both health care and the catchall spending measure, with no votes scheduled yet. "Republicans on the border states do not support the wall".

But in an interview with The Associated Press on Friday, Trump stopped short of demanding that money for the project be included in the must-pass spending bill.

Trump tweeted a separate warning at Democrats on Sunday, saying: "ObamaCare is in serious trouble. The Dems need big money to keep it going - otherwise it dies far sooner than anyone would have thought".

"I don't think anybody expects us to rollout bill language on Wednesday".

U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Saturday that the Trump administration is planning to bring the high corporate tax rates down and simplify tax codes for individuals.
