Griffin out for rest of playoffs with toe injury

Led by Hayward and George Hill (who pitched in with 26 points of his own), the Jazz hit 52 percent of their shots, including 14-of-34 from three-point range.

The high-flying forward suffered a big toe bruise in the Clippers' game against the Utah Jazz on Friday night and has been ruled out for the remainder of the Playoffs.

The 28-year-old American, a five-time NBA All-Star, will be re-evaluated by foot and ankle specialist Richard Ferkel when the team returns from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles.

The injury happened in the second half of Game 3 on a seemingly innocuous drive to the rim where Griffin suffered minor contact. He had 11 points, six rebounds and two assists in 18 minutes. But even if he is capable of returning for Game 4, he won't be at 100 percent.

Tuchel is sure to rotate his fourth-placed squad to try to help give those worst affected by the attack time to recover. He had a bandage wrapped around his right arm, and a smaller bandage around his left wrist.

But Griffin suffering first-round injury is déjà vu for the Clippers. He reaggravated the quad in the postseason, forcing him to sit out and helping Portland knock off the wounded Clippers in six games.

Griffin, 28, also missed 18 straight games earlier this season after undergoing surgery on his right knee. The Clippers lost Game 1 at the buzzer, rebounded in Game 2, and eventually rallied in Game 3 behind a heroic effort from Chris Paul.

"He's such a dynamic player".

"We'll worry about the game when it's that time, but right now it's about consoling one of the leaders of our team who this means more to him than anything". He's our other assist guy. "Just his leadership, it's just a different feeling when he's on the court". The Clippers have a 2-1 lead in the first round National Basketball Association playoff series. Much like Utah's effort in game one, the supporting players in Los Angeles did just enough to make up for their star's absence to secure a win.
