Cavaliers storm past Pacers

LeBron James has spent the past 14 years building a resume that would warrant an all-time great spot in the pantheon of National Basketball Association history. The only thing that matters is (winning).

CLEVELAND - James 14-27 7-14 41, Love 4-12 2-2 13, Thompson 4-7 1-2 9, Irving 4-17 4-5 13, Smith 4-9 1-2 13, R.Jefferson 0-0 0-0 0, Frye 4-7 3-3 13, Dero.Williams 1-1 2-2 5, Shumpert 0-0 0-0 0, Korver 4-7 0-0 12, D.Jones 0-0 0-0 0.

"I watched it kind of unravel", said Pacers forward Paul George.

In Game 4 of the 2012 conference semifinals James had 40 points, 18 rebounds and nine assists in a 101-93 win at in (the Pacers must be getting exhausted of this).

James has never lost a first-round series.

After 31 years on the beat and 85 games this season - 82 in the regular season and three in the playoffs - this is what I've figured out about the 2016-17 Cavaliers: I can' figure them out.

Jeff Teague added 15 for IN, and Lance Stephenson scored 13 for the Pacers.

Shumpert limited IN star Paul George to just four points IN the third quarter Monday when the Cavs built a 19-point lead.

Cleveland trailed by 26 in the first half and was still down 74-49 at halftime. The teams traded leads on each of the next four baskets, but after George's 3 with 5:15 to go gave IN a 104-103 lead, James scored on a layup that started a 12-5 run to seal it.

"You have to come out with the urgency to put a team away and not give them any life", IN head coach Nate McMillan said. "We're going into that game not to give them a "W" on Sunday. To go up 3-0, makes things a lot more hard for those guys".

Indiana Pacers' Myles Turner sits on the bench during a timeout in the second half in Game 3 of the team's first-round NBA basketball playoff series against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Thursday, April 20, 2017, in Indianapolis.

In addition to George's 23 first-half points, Pacers' non-starters outscored the Cavaliers' reserves 28-8 before the break. Bulls? No, the Wizards will definitely be waiting in the Eastern Conference Finals. "It was just fun, fun to play with such great fans". The Cavs could have performed better late in Game 2, but they were still in tune enough to get the W.

Khris Middleton had a team-high 20 points for the Bucks, while Giannis Antetokounmpo finished with 19.

Kyle Lowry and Delon Wright led Toronto with 13 points apiece.

But some other factors say that that will be much easier said than done. So many guys hit big shots and made big plays on both ends of the floor.

This night belonged to Milwaukee. "We needed everything from them". However, in the postgame press conference he got a question that had nothing to do with the game, believe it or not.

In Game 1, James double-teamed George in the closing seconds, forcing the four-time All-Star to pass the ball.

Then the Grizzlies matched his intensity on the court. "All of us. Again, it's not me signaling out teammates. Let's be real about it", Fizdale said. "Instead, we came out relaxed and just allowed them to step into wide-open three-pointers". Now we're getting a first-hand look at the finished products of that building, as he continues to pass all-time great after all-time great in several categories. It also was Fizdale's first postseason victory as a head coach. His Game 3 performance against IN will probably not even make it to the first three pages of his career resume.

But those examples pale in comparison to the hard lessons they've been getting from LeBron James, who has beaten in in seemingly every way possible this series. If body language was any indication, as James scored 28 of his 41 points in the second half and as the Pacers walked off the court in disbelief, in looks like it could be starting its offseason sometime late Sunday afternoon.

"We turned it over twice to start the minute like we were out on a picnic some place", Popovich said.

Spurs star Kawhi Leonard was kept to just 18 points. "We have to do a better job communicating". They led by 10 after one, 25 at the half.

But Randolph scored 11 points in the second quarter, and the Grizzlies carried a 50-46 lead into halftime.
