A business believed to be Colorado's first drive-thru marijuana shop is opening up this week.

The recreational marijuana shop will have cars actually pull into the building, thereby complying with state marijuana laws.

"I've been driving by the auto wash building a lot".

Smith bought the old auto wash and turned it into what he claims to be the only drive-thru marijuana dispensary in the world.

Owner Mark Smith, 58, was a pawn shop man.

"I didn't set out thinking this would be national news", he told the Post Independent.

Court allows Arkansas to use execution drug
Asa Hutchinson to complain that state judges aren't honoring the decisions jurors made when sentencing the prisoners to death. One of the three dissenting judges issued a blistering criticism of Monday's ruling sparing the first two condemned inmates.

Smith said he was taken aback by all the attention. "This is not an easy business to do inside a normal building". So he bought the auto wash and set to work transforming the vehicle bay into a new place to sell his wares.

Add the fact the Tumbleweed Dispensary is just off Interstate 70, the main east-west highway in Colorado, and a lot of eyes are going to see this tumbleweed. "We like the town, they are very supportive here".

Officials with Colorado's marijuana regulator were not immediately available for comment on Wednesday, but were quoted in local media as saying the store would need to abide by statewide rules and bar people under 21 from the premises, even in the back of a auto.

"The stars were in alignment".

Back in June 2015, the decision to repeal Parachute's ban on marijuana establishments was met with months of controversy, including failed votes to recall town councilors and to repeal the ordinance.

The Tumbleweed Express will be open from 4 midnight Thursday through Sunday. But Smith has no problem super-sizing an order.
