Former President George H.W. Bush was re-admitted to a hospital in Houston on Friday due to a case of pneumonia.

Family spokesman Jim McGrath told NBC News earlier Tuesday afternoon that Bush had been admitted as a precaution.

McGrath said on Wednesday that Bush "continues to gain strength".

Bush, 92, was hospitalized Friday for a persistent cough.

Just five days after his release from the hospital, Bush tossed the coin alongside his wife at the 2017 Super Bowl in Houston.
