A lookout notice has been put out against Dinakaran as the police is anxious he may try to escape. He held discussions with AIADMK (Amma) deputy general secretary Dhinakaran at the latter's residence in Chennai.

On Sunday, Delhi Police apprehended Sukesh Chandrasekhar, who was allegedly acting as a middleman for Dinakaran, from a five-star hotel in the national capital.

The revolt followed Sasikala's attempt to grab power after Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's passing, by assuming the post of interim general secretary, a post that has not been provided for in the party constitution.

She had been elected AIADMK Legislature party leader on February 5 for this objective, but her conviction by Supreme Court in the disproportionate assets case dashed hopes of becoming the chief minister. But with this decision of Mannargudi family's seclusion brewing among ministers, reaction of TTV Dinakaran will play a pivotal role in AIADMK's future course. When asked if Sasikala would quit from the party in case the merger took place, Jayakumar said, "We have no information regarding this".

The demand for the duo's ouster had come from former chief minister O Panneerselvam, who had earlier been unseated from the chief ministership by Sasikala. RB Udayakumar, the Minister who first went public demanding the resignation of Panneerselvam from the post of Chief Minister immediately after the coronation of Sasikala as general secretary in December 2016 said on Wednesday that it was all because of some kind of misunderstanding.

However, Reuters quoted us officials as saying that they were aware of a higher-than-usual level of activity by Chinese bombers. North Korea claimed earlier this year that it had successfully tested a new type of medium- to long-range ballistic missile.

We are ready to hold talks with OPS faction on merger", said R Vaithilingam, senior leader of EPS camp, adding, "Let's all work together to retrieve the Two-Leaf symbol.

While the cadres in AIADMK may support the merger, the resolution of the 122 MLAs who stood by E Palaniswamy under TTV Dinakaran's leadership is still elusive. "Let them (Sasikala faction) come out with official statements on the demands which we have made". But the Election Commission froze the symbol and asked the two factions to choose other symbols. Not contended with Edappadi Palanisamy camp yielding to demands made earlier, Panneerselvam camp now wants CBI probe ordered into Jayalalithaa's death before talks of merger begin.

Welcoming Panneerselvam's "call" for unity, Jayakumar said the AIADMK lawmakers discussed ways to unite the party and get back the "Two Leaves" symbol frozen by the Election Commission.

After Jaya's demise on Dec 5, 2016, Sasi took over the reigns of the party and anointed herself as the general secretary.
