Friday morning, in what police described as a poor attempt to imitate a police officer, Pacheco Bustamante set a blue siren atop his cop-like Ford Crown Victoria and turned it on.
Pacheo-Bustamante was driving a Ford Crown Victoria when he approached detective Alton Martin's unmarked police auto around 7:00 A.M. on Friday.
"I'm not going to say anything".
Alton Martin said Pacheco-Bustamante pulled him over just after 7am - but Martin happened to be a Miami-Dade police officer. "I didn't stop anybody".
She said that the real detective pulled off to the shoulder "believing he was being stopped by a police officer" near NW 119th Street.
"He gets out of his vehicle while he's in full uniform, so now he approaches the Crown Victoria and realizes this guy - there's something wrong", Capote said.
Stockholm attack prime suspect admits to terror crime
Akilov's lawyer, Johan Eriksson , told the court that he "confesses to the terror crime, and he agrees with the detention order". However, unlike similar vehicle attacks in Berlin, Nice, and London however, IS has not claimed the incident.
"He did tell the detectives that he has done this in the past, so we know that people have been stopped by him, we don't know where he's stopped other people", police spokeswoman Jennifer Capote said.
Nearly as quickly as Martin and Pacheco Bustamante got out of their vehicles, the cop wannabe was taken into custody.
Police arrived after Martin called the authorities, and found a BB gun that resembled a real one as well as police lights.
After his arrest, Bustamante admitted to putting on the lights and sirens and pursuing the officer. "He doesn't like people driving and texting".
A Florida man was in jail Friday night after he allegedly impersonated a police officer and ended up pulling over a Miami-Dade police officer.
When the uniformed detective got out of his vehicle, he reportedly realized he was dealing with a fake cop. The auto he was driving at the time was similar to police vehicles.
