Iran also launched four petrochemical projects with an annual production of two million tonnes worth about $2bn, state media said.
"Dignity, progress, peace, success and move towards peaks of advancement can be reached if all join hands and avoid seeking trivial matters", the president remarked.
Elsewhere, Rouhani expressed hope that the people would participate in large numbers at the upcoming elections.
Qatar in early April announced that it was lifting the moratorium on the North Dome after 12 years, aiming to increase the gas and gas condensate output by 10 percent (400,000 barrels per day of oil equivalent).
President Rouhani will also unveil two phases of Kavian Petrochemical complex, Morvarid MEG Petrochemical complex, and Polystyrene unit of Entekhab Industrial Group later in his visit.
Iran's total gas production is 885 million cubic metres per day.

Iran invested $8.1 billion in the mentioned phases, which became semi-operational in 2014.
The Rouhani administration accelerated the development of South Pars in an effort to draw level with Qatar in gas production from the joint field.
Mr. Rouhani is in southern coasts in Bushehr to unveil large projects in oil and gas industries.
It is estimated to hold 51 trillion cubic meters of gas and huge deposits of gas condensate, a type of ultra light crude.
Tehran seeks to raise gas production capacity to a record high of 1.1 billion cubic meters annually by March 2018 on the back of bigger supplies from South Pars.
