"We had two students who were tragically injured and are listed as critical at this stage in area hospitals".
The suspected shooter also died in what authorities say was an apparent murder-suicide at North Park Elementary School in San Bernardino.
The third victim has been identified at Karen Smith, 53, a teacher of the class.

"After that exchange, the suspect turned the gun on himself and killed himself", Burguan said.

Numerous parents of the school's 600 students were at home when the blaring sounds of emergency vehicle sirens shattered the morning quiet of their neighborhood.
